ABOUT US
At Livewires Music School, we go above and beyond to provide a supportive and dynamic musical community. We encourage our students to explore and enjoy the many sides of music.

Additionally, we focus on musical opportunities. We host multiple concerts each semester and encourage students to take part in events organised outside of the school.
Creativity, confidence and connection come first.​
Locations:​
Our lessons and classes take place in multiple locations throughout Vienna. This includes studios in districts: 1020; 1090; 1130; 1150. At-home lessons and special projects discussed upon request.
Language of instruction:
Our teaching team are native English teachers with experience teaching English as a foreign language. We consider this a fantastic benefit of studying with Livewires - practise and learn English in a musical environment! We also speak and often teach in German.

Musical experience and education is valuable beyond words. We believe that high-quality, engaging music education should be available to everyone. Therefore, we operate a 'pay what you can' scheme for those who require financial support.​​
Livewires Music School is inspired by our experiences within the music industry and various music education systems.
​
Ellie and Ben met while studying at the California Institute of the Arts. This environment combined rigour with creativity and individual hard work with communal fun. At Livewires, we train students to become able, independent musicians who enjoy the journey!

We believe that music should be approached holistically and as a community. Therefore, all of our students are regularly invited to free or donation-based workshops that further their musical education.

Co-Founder and Instructor
Ellie Atkinson
Ellie is a singer, songwriter, and teacher from England. With an MA in Music Education, Ellie is passionate about inspiring musicians of all ages to find their voice, build confidence, and experience the joy of making music together.
Co-Founder and Instructor
Ben Scanlan
Ben is a drummer and music teacher from Los Angeles. With an MFA in Percussion and a BFA in Music Education, Ben is dedicated to helping young musicians develop strong technical skills while nurturing their creativity and love for music.
Guitar Instructor
Bianca Maria Minervini
Bianca is an Italian classical guitarist currently pursuing postgraduate studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw). She holds a Master of Arts with highest honours from the “Niccolò Piccinni” Conservatory in Bari and has performed as a soloist at major festivals and concert venues throughout Italy.
Piano Instructor
Timothy Choi
Timothy is a dedicated piano teacher from Canada. He holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of British Columbia, with a double major in Piano Performance and English Literature, and has earned multiple advanced licentiate- and diploma-level performance qualifications from leading international music institutions.
